Brig. Dr. Colin R. Tatem, Commandant of the Bahamas Command, is shown with Commissioner Dr. John Bennett during his recent visit with Bahamian Frontiersmen in Nassau.

The Bahamas Command of The Legion of Frontiersmen was established in 1998, with only 12 Troopers. It has since grown to include many Members who are very active in their communities. A branch of The Bahamas Command is also serving in New Jersey, where Brig. Tatem resides most of the year.

Lt. Col. Dr. Judson Eneas trains some fifty High School graduates of The Gentlemen's Club in Nassau each year, and awards University Scholarships, raised from local merchants, valued at $350,000.00 to the top 10. He is assisted by Major Dr. Barry Russell and other Members of the Bahamas Command.

While in New Jersey they visit High Schools to address students on The Value of Education, and they give talks on Life Skills at the Youth Detention Center.

Dr. Tatem writes a weekly column on international affairs which is published in the Bahamian newspapers, that is seen as an aid to teaching the Youth of The Bahamas.

In keeping with the work of The Frontiersmen, Members of The Command are involved in Emergency Preparedness, Search and Rescue, and the Mentoring of Youth.
